Nonrepresentational art is pure abstraction. The mind has a hard time allowing it. Even when we simply view nonrepresentational art, our minds always try to make a connection to something familiar. These three paintings all began as nonrepresentational; however, only one held true. The other two tricked me as they became something recognizable. I wonder if you can match up these paintings with their titles: Sydney Harbour, Back-to-School Night, and Over My Shoulder.
